09/15/2010: It's been about 18 months since the last news post. A lot has happened in that time. Dan Benson (Vitreous Humor) has taken over on the drums. The band made a few trips to Austin and recorded 2 LPs. The first is finished, the second is getting there (both need homes). Up next: a self-released five-song sampler and some new t-shirt designs. Stay tuned.

03/18/2009: This past week was a blast with The Dactyls playing to a sold out crowd at Liberty Hall with the Get Up Kids and then packing it in at The Replay with Mansion. The Dactyls EP is out available online at the store. This weekend the Dactyls are heading down to SXSW to play the CDfuse/DoubleStereo Showcase. The band will spend the following week tracking a full length with Jim Vollentine at Jack Rock's Studio outside of Austin.

02/03/2009:
It's only February and it's already gearing up to be a busy year. The band has been demoing songs for a full length album which will be recorded by Jim Vollentine in March. (One of those demos, "Headshot," is now featured on the audio page ). The Dactyls will be playing SXSW this March as well, so stay tuned for more details.

01/20/2009:
Come out to the Granada tonight to see The Dactyls and celebrate Obama's innauguration. Doors at 7.
Also, video footage from 2008's Deadwood Derby is now up on the media page and new t-shirts are available at the store.

Happy 2009 everyone! The website is finally up!  MySpace, good riddance. Be sure and check out the store for t-shirts and records.  Also, the Media section features rough mixes of songs from our upcoming EP,  as well as video footage from a scorching patio show at the Replay.  Check back soon, as there's more to come.
